HealthyU Campus Fair
Great Turnout
October is here! And with it’s arrival has come cooler temperatures, changing leavings and of course, Physical Therapy Month! On Wednesday, October 3rd, second-year University of Pittsburgh doctor of physical therapy students represented the profession at the annual HealthyU Campus Fair. Over 1,200 students committed to living healthy, making it the most successful yet!
PT Students Spreading the Word
Along side other health-related majors, programs and vendors, the PT students set up a table to discuss running injuries and prevention. They conducted ‘Wet Tests’ to help determine foot types, listened to students’ experiences with running injuries and offered recommendations to stay healthy.
The PT students also were there to raise awareness of the addition of PT Clinic services through the Student Health Services. Now, students may make appointments for a physical therapy consultation through Student Health. Many times students overdue it in the gym or assume prolonged library which causes pain in muscles and joints. The PT Clinic can now treat these student, making care convenient and cost effective.
Therapy Dogs!
Oh yeah, and therapy dogs were there too!
