Pitt-Marquette Challenge Representative
Hello! My name is Sam Owens, and I’m from Corry, Pennsylvania. I graduated from Pitt in 2016 while majoring in Rehabilitation Science, minoring in Fitness, and receiving a certificate in Pathokinesiology of Rehabilitation. When not studying most of my time was devoted to running as I was a member of Pitt’s Cross Country and Track and Field teams. I had various injuries throughout my running career and was always trying to self-diagnose and self-treat. WebMD was not a reliable enough source for me to do this successfully, so I got interested in physical therapy. Later, volunteering and working in PT clinics really helped me decide that this is really what I want to do. After loving my time here as an undergraduate student, I cannot imagine pursuing this professional degree anywhere else. We have some of the best clinics and clinicians in the country, and I am very excited to continue to learn from them throughout the rest of my time here!
