My name is Charles Badawy. I’m originally from Reston, VA, and I graduated from Virginia Tech with a degree in Human Nutrition, Foods, and Exercise. Physical Therapy as a profession has always been of huge interest to me, but I really committed to it Junior year of college when I developed sciatica and back pain. I underwent an L4-L5 microdiscectomy, but was not prescribed physical therapy at any time before or after the procedure. I became somewhat obsessed with the rehabilitative process, and proceeded to work as a student athletic trainer and a strength and conditioning intern while finishing my degree at Virginia Tech. During my two years between undergrad and Pittsburgh, I worked as a physical therapy aide for OrthoVirginia, a strength and conditioning coach for SAPT Inc., and a personal trainer at the Reston branch of Lifetime Fitness. I believe in ingraining the importance of physical activity into our society, and keeping people active and moving as they age. My goal is to develop my skills as a therapist here in Pittsburgh and eventually open my own clinic with these values in mind.
