Social Media Chair
Hi there! My name is Katina Demarchi and I will be fulfilling the role of Social Media Chair for the University of Pittsburgh’s DPT Class of 2022. I will be working with the chairs of both classes above and below in order to coordinate an informative and intriguing website, Facebook page (Univervisity of Pittsburgh Physical Therapy), Twitter account (@PittPT), and Instagram account (@pitt_pt) – be sure to give us a follow! We will be posting Monday Memos, Friday Trivia Questions, and updates on the program, events we participate in, faculty, students and all things PT related that we find fun and exciting! Be sure to keep up to date with us if you love Pitt PT just as much as we do. As for myself, I grew up in a small town called Chesterland, Ohio and in trying to always keep up with my brothers, became a three season athlete (you can imagine where I’m headed with this story). Always being interested in the medical field, it was through my multiple injuries that I became sure that Physical Therapy was the right choice for me. With two brothers in the military, my interests have veered towards helping Veterans and wanting to give back even a fraction of what Veterans and their families have sacrificed for us. Through volunteering at the Veterans Hospital in Fox Chapel, I met some incredible Physical Therapists whom fueled my passion for the field and sparked new interests in neuro and spine specialties. Another passion of mine is Psychology, I received my BS at the University of Pittsburgh in Psychology and hope to pursue Psychologically Informed Physical Therapy for the Veterans population as well. With the multitude of opportunities offered to the DPT students at Pitt, I am confident that I will gain connections to all of these fields and live out my dream of helping Veterans and the general population regain strength both physically and mentally.
