My name is Janet Mitchell and I am one of the PPTA representatives. I grew up in Mullica Hill, New Jersey a small farm town twenty minutes outside of Philadelphia. I graduated from the University of Pittsburgh in 2017 with a degree in Rehabilitation Science, a minor in Social Work, and a certificate in Pathokinesiology. Attending Pitt for my undergraduate career was easily the best choice I ever made. I was able to experience so many different PT settings such as outpatient orthopedics, inpatient TBI, stroke, and general rehab. I am incredibly honored and excited that I get to continue my education as a Pitt DPT student. I am most interested in pediatric and neuro physical therapy. I would love to work for the Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia back home or open my own outpatient clinic that specializes in both orthopedic and neuro pediatric care. As well as wanting to have a clinical presence I also want to go into teaching down the road in my career. Outside the classroom you can usually find my nose in a book, my current favorite series is An Ember in the Ashes and everyone should read it, cheering on the Phillies, doing yoga, or relaxing with my friends and family. Hail to Pitt!
