My name is Emily Lyons and I was born in Lincoln, Maine and raised in Coopersburg, Pennsylvania. I earned my undergraduate degree from the University of Pittsburgh, where I majored in Rehabilitation Science with a certificate in Pathokinesiology in Rehab. I was given the opportunity to stay at here at Pitt for graduate school and decided to do so because of the great faculty and clinical opportunities. During my time at Pitt, I was a member of Varsity Swimming and Diving Team and worked as an outpatient rehabilitation aide and a personal care aide. Throughout my athletic career, I went to physical therapy myself and witnessed many teammates get injured, which is how I was initially exposed to this field. I am very excited to continue my education as a DPT student at Pitt to eventually help my patients get back to doing their favorite activities and maximize their quality of life.
